In December of 2019 Ascension Parish detached single-family homes saw an average sales price of $246,613. This is a decrease of 8.1% from October of 2018. Sellers had their homes on the market for 60 days. They walked away with 98.55% of their asking price vs 98.57 last year. Keystone of Galvez and Lakeside Terrace were the hot areas.
East Baton Rouge Parish Market Stats
In December of 2019, Baton Rouge Real Estate saw an average sales price of $260,947 with their detached single-family homes. This is an increase of 6.7% from December of 2018. Wow! The market in East Baton Rouge has been undoubtedly interesting to follow the past few months. Seller list to sale percentage dropped a bit to 96.99%. Buyers gained a bit more control than what they have had in prior months. Hunters Trace and University Villas were the hot spots.

Looks like new construction is attracting the buyers in East Baton Rouge Parish and the DSLD Construction homes are attracting the buyers in Ascension Parish. Both East Baton Rouge and Ascension Parishes saw sales exceed the number of new listings. Lower inventory will give sellers an advantage again.
